Prepare Series: Setting the Captives Free: Passover and Resurrection Life for Christians Today
April 15, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pmFree
John and Courtney Redelsheimer, from Among Us Ministries, will be our speakers.
God commanded His people, Israel, 3500 years ago, to keep the Passover. He instructed the Israelites living in bondage in Egypt to cook a lamb, prepare unleavened bread and to eat in haste as He would be leading them out of bondage and into the wilderness in order to prepare their hearts for the promised land. The Hebrews chose to trust God and followed His instructions which were to paint the blood of the lamb over the two door posts and the lintel of their houses. This would be as a sign to Him that they had invited God to Pesach, or cross over the threshold of their homes where He would protect and defend them from the angel of death sent that night to take life from every first born in Egypt.
We invite you to journey through Passover as we explore the days leading up Jesus’ last supper, crucifixion and resurrection. What do these days mean to us today in light of His truth and His Spirit? Are we consistently living a resurrected life, giving evidence of the love of Christ, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self control? Are we more free today of enslaving yokes of bitterness, jealousy, unforgiveness, finger pointing and harsh, unjust speaking then we were yesterday? He has promised all of us that are in Christ to make all things new. What is He making new in you this season?
A free will offering will be received to cover expenses. When you make your reservation, let us know if you plan to purchase lunch for a suggested donation of $5 per person (or you can bring your own lunch). Please register by April 13 by using the RSVP form (below), by calling 715-488-8564, or by sending an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
