The Westrom Cabin was built in loving memory of Marvin H. Westrom by his wife, Louise Westrom Klawitter. Marv loved to fish and laugh and was a really great Grandpa. He grew up in the Grantsburg area where he served in his church and community. Marv was well liked and made a difference in the lives of all he touched. Over 85 friends and family members were involved in the construction, furnishing and decorating of this cabin. The desire of Marvin's family is that this cabin be used as a place set apart for God's people to be refreshed spiritually, physically, and emotionally and be drawn into an intimate and deeper walk with Jesus.
Cabin Information
The Westrom Cabin is a hand crafted, dovetail type log building tucked back in the woods. It is set on a hillside overlooking a beautiful valley. With its " all on one level" floor plan, it is like walking into your own log cabin suite. Our first cabin with a gas fireplace, it also has electric heat, air-conditioning, microwave oven, toaster, refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, a sink and water jug for drinking and cooking needs and miscellaneous utensils. In seeking to make your stay as comfortable as possible we have provided a queen size bed, table and chairs, swivel/glider rocker, and comfortable twin sleeper chair. Although a very modern, heated, lighted pit toilet is near the cabin, a fully modern bathroom with shower is also available close by.
To access the prayer cabin, a short downhill hike is required.
What you will need to bring: Comfortable clothing to meet your indoor and outdoor needs - We suggest slippers for inside, bed linens or sleeping bag, blankets, pillows, towels and personal care items, simple food that can be cooked in the microwave, a flashlight, reading material and Bible.
